Hi Ben,
Enjoyed reading your ever creative & poetic descriptions of the canadian adventure. sounds like you're having a pretty cool time, despite the local retard chix scamming ya. love the photos. sublime sunsets and glorious snowflakes. its warming up here, lovely actually, just got back from one of the first lawn bowls days of the summer in the east parklands. the irony of a group of 30 somethings in stovepipes with skunk mullets trying to look as cool as fuck - while playing bowls for fucks sake - is always pretty amusing.
take care

actually i think that's a really shit comment. perhaps you should simply assume heide that, unlike yourself perhaps(?), these people aren't pathetically image obsessed, & even if they are, perhaps they don't plan their activities & desires based upon what sort of further enhanced & dogmatic public perception of themselves they can create in doing so.

Rather they are simply choosing to live their lives, & not hung up trying to mask the banality of their existance in some sort of objectified "music/ media industry sanctioned fantasy" that they can project back to themselves & each other to mask their own assumedly underlying feelings of worthlessness?

gus has obviously done a good thing setting up the bowls event, & it's regular & healthy patronage is a testament to the strength, open mindedness, & unflinching capacity of this particular community to get trashed no matter what the time, place, or occasion.

I therefore raise a toast to bowls, & poo-poo your rather pathetic & reactionary comment.

get a life, & stop judging others based on their inability to fit in your own rather straight jacketed & reactionary pidgeon holing.

viva la bowls!

Woah there, pardner... I feel like I've walked into a room and interrupted a fight or something! I'm sure Heide wasn't trying to impose her value system upon the world. Having said all that, there's nothing like a good rant in the comments pages to make a blog that little bit more interesting!
